Aeromexico to Launch New Service Between Mexico City's Felipe Angeles Airport and Houston

Aeromexico will launch new service between Felipe Angeles International Airport in Mexico City and Houston Intercontinental Airport from May 1st, 2023. The route will be operated daily with an Embraer E190, marking the first U.S. service from the airport.

On Tuesday (January 31, 2023), Aeromexico announced the launch of service between Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), Mexico City’s secondary airport, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas starting May 1st, 2023. This marks to first route between AIFA and the U.S., and the service will operate daily with an Embraer E190. The new service complements Aeromexico’s existing service between Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and Houston.

The new Houston service is the carrier’s ninth route from AIFA, and inbound customers to the airport will enjoy seamless onward connectivity to Acapulco, Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Merida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, and Veracruz. Aeromexico is currently working with the Mexican aviation authorities to recover Category 1 aviation status under the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) program of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in compliance with ICAO standards. The carrier currently offers service on 22 routes between Mexico and the U.S.
